
Valeria Andreyevna Kovaleva
Stage name — Valeria Chaika
Pop and jazz singer, vocal teacher. Born on 12 August 1994 in Barnaul. She began her path to the stage at Children’s Art School No. 2 in Novoaltaysk — choreography and voice in the class of top-category teacher Svetlana Loginova, on the “Vocal Art” programme (classical and pop streams). Winner of regional, national and international competitions.
She graduated from the Moscow State College of Pop and Jazz Art (department of pop and jazz singing, class of Anatoly Stepanov) and from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, faculty of pop and jazz art, class of Associate Professor Anna Rudneva — with honours.
Since 2014 she has worked with the Yuri Silantyev Academic Grand Concert Orchestra under Alexander Klevitsky — as part of the trio “MISTERIO”. She has performed at the House of Cinema and the “Meridian” cultural centre, on Channel One’s “Good Morning” programme, and in the “Music at the Summits” project.
Finalist of the international young performers’ competition “Big Stage” and of the “We Firmly Believe in the Heroes of Sport” award — with the song “Fly” in a duet with Arina Voytenko. Contestant on the show “Come On, All Together!” on the Rossiya 1 channel.
Since 2021 she has released nine singles — from her debut “My World” to “Let Us Be Silent” and “We Exist”, recorded with the children’s pop choir “Gordost”. She continues to perform with the Silantyev Orchestra and to teach voice.
At the “Wings of Dream” foundation she leads the cultural strand: children’s and musical initiatives for the beneficiaries and the music and education project “Generation of the Victors of Novorossiya”.
