Talks at DPR ministries on the “Generation of the Victors of Novorossiya” project

Ministry of Culture of the DPR: a meeting on the “Generation of the Victors” project1 / 2

The chair of the foundation held talks at the DPR Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth Policy — about a gala concert at the restored Mariupol Drama Theatre.

The working week began in the Donetsk People’s Republic. As chair of the “Wings of Dream” charitable foundation, Vladimir Kovalev held talks at the DPR Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth Policy. The subject — the project the foundation is preparing for May 2027, for the fifth anniversary of the liberation of Mariupol: the musical and educational project “#GenerationOfTheVICTORS of Novorossiya”.

The idea is to give a voice to young musicians and songwriters of the Donbass and, more widely, of all Novorossiya. A competition, masterclasses, professional arrangements for the finalists, studio recordings and a large gala concert. Every participant is a victor: over circumstances, over fear, over destruction.

At the DPR Ministry of Culture there was keen interest in the idea of holding the gala concert on one of the republic’s most significant stages — the restored Mariupol Drama Theatre, which opened after reconstruction at the end of 2025 and became a symbol of the city’s revival. For the chair of the foundation this place carries a personal meaning: his roots are in Mariupol, and his grandfather was head of a school in Volodarske for more than twenty years.

At the DPR Ministry of Youth Policy the educational side won support — they discussed holding masterclasses and rehearsals at the “30/09” Youth Centre in Donetsk.

Special thanks to the People’s Front of the DPR and to Sergey Samokhin personally — for help in arranging the meetings. And to the Minister of Culture, Mikhail Vasilyevich Zheltyakov — for a warm welcome and a gift, books about the Donbass.

A great undertaking begins with the first step. The first steps have been taken.
