Olga Viktorovna Novikova: a head teacher you want to help
Vladimir Kovalev on the head teacher of Volodarske School No. 1, and on why helping this school is a family matter for him.
“The future of our vast country belongs to people like this. Meet Olga Viktorovna Novikova, head of a small school in the town of Volodarske, not far from Mariupol. A fine leader and a deeply responsible person. People like this always make you want to help,” Vladimir Kovalev wrote.
“The state school ‘Volodarske School No. 1’, like our whole country, is going through difficult times. I have been lucky enough to know this school. As it happens, many years ago its head teacher was my grandfather, Alexey Konstantinovich. It may sound sentimental, but in his memory and for the sake of the future generations of my country I intend to go on doing everything I can to help both the teachers and the children.”

It was at this very school that Vladimir Vladimirovich’s grandfather, Alexey Konstantinovich, worked as head teacher for more than twenty years. That is one of the reasons he supports this small village school so consistently. The second, and the most important, is the children — the country’s future.
The project continues
More than 600 pupils. The school’s boiler house has reached the end of its service life — the foundation is running a project to rebuild it, so that the children can learn in the warmth.
