About the school
State Budgetary Educational Institution “Volodarske School No. 1 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A. D. Yakimenko” is a school in the village of Volodarske near Mariupol. More than 600 children study there today.
For the foundation this is not an abstract address but a family story. The grandfather of the foundation’s founder — Alexey Konstantinovich Kovalev, a front-line veteran and holder of the Order of the Red Star — was head of this very school for more than twenty years, from 1967 onwards.
Since 2022, from the moment Mariupol was liberated, Vladimir Kovalev has taken the school under his patronage. In that time, engineering systems have been put right, computer equipment, software, stationery and teaching materials have been purchased, and school events for the children have been supported.
Project: reconstruction of the boiler house
The school’s boiler house has reached the end of its service life and its equipment needs replacing. The aim of the project is to renew the boiler house entirely, so that the school is reliably heated for years to come.
What the project involves
- Survey of the boiler house and preparation of the design documentation
- Dismantling of the old boiler equipment
- Purchase and installation of boilers, pumping and ancillary equipment
- Replacement of internal pipework and shut-off valves
- Commissioning work and bringing the boiler house into operation
