“Zarnitsa”: the foundation kitted out the team from Volodarske School No. 1
At the request of head teacher Olga Viktorovna, the foundation provided the children with matching kit for the municipal military-patriotic contest.
When Olga Viktorovna, head teacher of the state school “Volodarske School No. 1 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A. D. Yakimenko”, asked the foundation to help prepare the children for the municipal military-patriotic contest “Zarnitsa”, the Chair of the Foundation, Vladimir Kovalev, did not hesitate for a moment.
This school is a special one for the foundation. For more than 20 years its head teacher was Vladimir Vladimirovich’s grandfather. It was here that the values now at the heart of the work of “Wings of Dream” were formed: care for children, patriotism and faith in the future.
In early April the school’s pupils lined up at the start of “Zarnitsa” in matching kit: the foundation provided the team with team polo shirts, caps, badges and chevrons — so that the children would feel like a real team.
“Zarnitsa” is more than a contest. It is about friendship, discipline, team spirit and love for one’s homeland. We are proud to be able to support the children of Donbass on this journey.
The project continues
More than 600 pupils. The school’s boiler house has reached the end of its service life — the foundation is running a project to rebuild it, so that the children can learn in the warmth.
